Photo Quest is a group date with one or more couples, where each couple takes a photo of an object within certain boundaries and gives it to another couple to find.

Requirements

[edit | edit source]
  • Number of couples: 2+
    • May become difficult to coordinate in excess of 4 couples
    • An even number of couples makes the photo exchange easier
  • One photo capable smartphone per couple
  • A publicly accessible area
    • Campus buildings work very well
  • A way to track time
  • A way to communicate from a distance
    • Phone (SMS/Call/Web messaging)
    • Walkie talkie

Game Loop

[edit | edit source]
  1. Set the boundaries. Generally this will be the scope of a single large building or a similarly sized walkable area.
  2. Decide a meeting point to start and end rounds.
  3. Each couple should split up and take a photo of a location. The photo should be reasonably discernibly unique. A time limit should be placed (generally 5–15 minutes).
  4. Each couple will exchange photos at the meeting spot.
  5. Each couple will search for the location in the photo they received. A time limit should be placed (15–30 minutes).
  6. The couple that finds their object first should communicate to everyone else using the chosen method of communication to tell everyone to meet back at the meeting spot.
  7. If time runs out and no couple finds the location in their picture, return to the meeting spot.
  8. Repeat for as many rounds as desired.
